Mission
Statement
The
Cancer Foundation of W.A aims to minimise the effects of cancer on our
community through research and education, and by providing patient and
family support to enhance the quality of life for people living with
cancer.
Key
Objectives of the Cancer Foundation of Western Australia:
To
implement a coordinated approach to the control of cancer through:

Encouraging
and supporting research into the causes, diagnosis, treatment and
prevention of cancer and leukaemia.

Implementing
public education programs, which will raise public awareness of
lifestyle factors in cancer prevention and early detection.

Promoting
access to the highest standard of cancer treatments.

Providing
assistance and support to cancer patients, their families and carers
in order to alleviate the psychological, social and financial
consequences of the disease.

Enhancing
the quality of life for terminally ill cancer patients through
palliative and hospice care.

Further
promote the skin cancer prevention message through the provision of
quality sun protection products at an affordable price.

Providing
effective management of funds donated, and operating from a
continuing sound financial base in order to fund long-term programs.
