The Healing Touch of Massage

Massage is used to reduce tension of the body and mind due to every day living and it’s benefits are many, as it is an effective healing modality.

Massage allows overstressed muscles to relax therefore reducing pain levels without the use of chemical drugs. This calming therapy which is ancient in itself, has been used by masters to regularly and systematically stimulate the soft body tissue, achieving relief from symptoms such as muscular aches and pains. This establishes better tone and circulation by oxygenating tissues and aiding the body to rid itself of unwanted toxins. Mentally, massage benefits those who suffer form headache, irritability, insomnia and depression and gives the recipient more endurance to get on with their daily lives.

Tactile therapies, such as massage, are a caring, loving, feeling way of maintaining good health. There is an increased awareness today in the value of Touch Therapy and the powerful effect it has in achieving a more wholesome and happier life.

Massage is fantastic to use during labour as it is very relaxing and soothing. It is a wonderful way of utilising aromatherapy and is very beneficial to both mother and baby. Massage can also be used postnatally to aid the mother’s body recover after giving birth.
