An
Autumn Seasonal Table
Autumn
is a time of great change and activity. Replace you pretty summer clothes
with earthy brown and orange clothes for a background. Your autumn table
can be filled with a wonderful assortment of leaves and treasures as
nature sheds its bounty. It is also the time of apples, the first fires,
and winter breezes. Make some simple kites with the children, go kite
flying, and then put them on the table as a centrepiece.
Mother
Nature could put her shawl and bonnet on and can be carrying a basket of
apples. You could also make a little scene with a squirrel collecting nuts
or a mouse busily preparing it’s home for winter. Read or tell the
children some stories which describe autumn activity and let them suggest
some ideas.
The
Squirrel
Whisky,
frisky, hippity hop,
Up
he goes to the treetop,
Whirly,
twirly, round and round,
Down
he scampers to the ground.
Furly,
curly, what a tail,
Tall
as a feather, broad as a sail.
Where’s
his supper? In the shell.
Snap,
crack, out it fell.
