Body Tracing

This is an activity that can take up all the free time in the day if it is done well.  You need to have lots of markers, crayons and coloured pencils (you may want to add spare material, streamers and straws for 3-D effect) and a piece of butcher’s paper or poster board as big as your child. 

1. Have your child lay down carefully on the paper
2. Strike a pose
3. Take a black marker and trace their outline

When they get up, there is an outline of themselves to colour and decorate in whatever clothes they want!  Fill in the face and create a background for a better scene.  Give them lots of time and space on the hard floor.  Maybe they can finish up the specifics after you have hung it on a wall!  Do it every couple of years to let your child see how quickly they grow!
