A
Spring Seasonal Table
Spring
is a time of wonderful colour and new life. Yellow and pale green clothes
are the best background. Cut a couple of small branches with new buds and
leaves and put these in a vase in the centre of the table. Blossoms from
fruit trees are particularly pretty. Add a small vase of fresh spring
flowers each week and any treasure you find in the garden. You can make
some simple butterflies out of tissue wrap and hang these from the
branches. You may want to make your own spring scene with little chicks or
baby animals. Let the children help you with some ideas.
You
can tell the children the story of how towards the end of winter Mother
Nature gently wakes the root children and sets them to work sewing their
new spring clothes. When they are ready they put on their colourful new
clothes and burst up through the ground to become the little flower
children. You can make some little flower children out of felt or fabric.
Mother Nature can take off her winter cloak and carry a little basket of
flowers. It is also nice to make some blossom fairies to hang from your
branch.
Five
Little Peas
Five
little peas in a pea pod pressed,
One
grew, two grew, and so did all the rest.
They
grew and they grew and they did not stop,
Until
one day, the pod went POP!
