What is a Playgroup?

A Playgroup is a group of parents and carers and their young children from birth to school age who meet regularly for playing and learning.

Playgroups welcome newborns, babies, toddlers and preschoolers with their parents, grandparents or carers.

Playgroups are for everyone;

- Playgroups belong to their members, are low cost and lots of fun
- Playgroups are non-profit and non-political. They are open to everyone regardless of race, religion, colour, or social or economic position.

- To relax and chat
- To observe and play with your own and other babies and children
- To create a support network with other Playgroup members

- To become part of your local community

Playgroup is for your baby or child;
