Community is one of the most over used
words in society today. Just about everywhere you turn there is a
community of some sort. However the meaning of community has changed over
the years and what we as people expect from society has also changed.
There are many influences and environmental factors which have changed the
face of our society and the way in which we relate to each other. The fact
that you are reading this over the internet is just one small example of
this.
Have you ever wondered why you can live
next door or across the road to someone for many years and yet know very
little about them or their life? Is this what community is all about?
What we will aim to achieve here is to
provide information about what we call "true" community. This is
certainly not a simple thing to define but we believe that it goes back to
the fundamentals and basics of people interacting with each other on this
planet. By providing alternative viewpoints and information on what people
are doing all around the world we hope to simply give you a wider scope of
options for consideration.
We have an underlying belief that we
as people need a true sense of community. Through working our way towards
this the our quality of life and that of our children's will improve both
now and into the future.
