The
moments I treasure as the father of a little girl and boy is when
the appreciation or awareness of a new experience dawns on them. As
their eyes light up and their little bodies quiver with excitement
they become a reflection of how wonderful life can be.
Sharing
these moments with your own children is all that more special
because of what they mean to you.
When
a child embraces life in this way it reminds me of those times in my
own life when the magic of the moment makes the world such a
wonderful place. The ability to surrender completely to the moment
is certainly a skill of youth.
With
this in mind an experience that would make a day for this father to
remember is a trip to the southwest corner of Western Australia
where my children could meet the friendly dolphins of Geographe Bay.
A family of dolphins call this area home and regularly visit people
close to the beach. On the previous occasion I met these beautiful
animals they stayed with us for about half an hour and moved up
close enough to be touched, which they seemed to enjoy. Against the
backdrop of the crystal clear waters and sparkling white sands of
Geographe Bay I can imagine the impact these gentle animals with
their aura of peacefulness would have on my two water babies.
