are available for applicants at intermediate level or higher who

Perth Demi Pair was
developed as part of the service to overseas students who wanted to
come to Australia to study at the International Language Academy in
West Perth, it was seen as giving the ones with limited funds the
opportunity to come to Perth and study the English language. (School
hours are 9am to 3:15pm)
IT’S A WIN WIN
SITUATION FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES ALIKE
A family offers a
room and board to a student at no cost and in exchange the student
will give 15 hours of child minding and household duties to the
family. A minimum stay of 12 weeks and could be up to 26 weeks.
Total cost to the
family is a $50 administration fee to place a student with them.
A variation to the
very popular “AU PAIR” of
England and Europe.
This Demi Pair
programme is also popular with single Mothers and shift workers and
two income parents who race the clock to work full time and look
after their home and children.
Families must have
a police clearance to host a Demi Pair and the student has
references and also has the thorough investigation of the
Immigration before a student visa is granted to them.
Upon arrival they
stay with me and I can ascertain the personality and type of person
and explain the requirements of the family they are going to. This
time also allows them to recover from jet-lag, settle in to the
school, establish friends and familiarize themselves with Perth.
At all times I am
available to both the student and the family and I maintain contact
with the student via the Academy.
With your approval
I would like the opportunity of this service becoming known to
families, I am sure they would welcome some help and support without
the expense of paying for domestic help and baby sitters. During the
11 years I was with Camp Quality I became fully aware of the needs
of the families in caring for the siblings and running their home.
